How does rain affect my pool?

The heavy rainfall we recently had here in the Phoenix, Arizona area was unexpected! Sure, we’re all enjoying it but what could all this rain be doing to your pool? Did you know rain water actually negatively affects your pool? Nitric and sulfuric acid from the industrial gasses affect the rain and that rain affects the pool water chemistry balance. Not only does the rain directly falling into your pool cause issues but the rainwater coming from the decking and landscape are also another factor. This dirty rainwater negatively affects the water chemistry balance too.
