Imbalanced chemicals: Chemicals that aren’t balanced properly might mean too much or too little chlorine. Alkalinity, calcium hardness, or stabilizer levels may also be imbalanced.

Faulty filter:  Your filter may not be working properly, or you may not be using it correctly. Try leaving your filter running longer, check for clogs, and be sure you aren’t using worn-out filter cartridges.

Environmental factors, debris (particles), and mineral deposits: Dust, pollen, and leaves can all build up in your filter, leading to a cloudy pool. Bird droppings, insects, and water run-off after a storm also contribute to the cloudy pool water. Also, run-off water brings in minerals, including nitrates, phosphates, silicates, and sulfates, into your pool, which may make your water dirty.

There are lots of reasons why your pool may be cloudy, these are just a few. If you have a cloudy pool and are unsure of the cause give us a call. 602.920.1633
